In order to improve the performance and durability of bush SE-SB-0104, MOOG has increased the number of internal rubber compounds from two to four. This design change has structurally altered the appearance of the bush which also means the rubber mark which indicates the mounting position has been removed. Due to the removal of the rubber mounting mark, extra care should be taken when fitting the new bush.
How to replace car bushes?
For an easy installation of bushing SE-SB-0104, there are the 3 steps to follow:
- Indicate an auxiliary mark, this must be 90° to the rubber reinforcement. The rubber reinforcement should always be in the direction of the support after installation (center of the vehicle).
- When inserting the bush into the support, the auxiliary mark should be aligned with the marking on the housing. The rubber reinforcement should be pointing towards the direction of the support.
- After the mounting of the wishbone bushes the other parts should be installed following the recommended torque values of the vehicle manufacturer.
